Hen of the Wood
Waterbury
Located in Waterbury’s historic downtown, our goal is to provide a true Vermont dining experience and showcase the region's most vibrant foods.
We also offer chef’s-choice dinners for 8 to 14 in our Private Dining Room.
What we’re about
We opened Hen of the Wood - Waterbury in October 2005. Hen of the Wood was focused on a few key themes; a community that we could represent authentically, a historic & visually appealing setting, seamless service, simple technique-driven regional food and a group of professionals that would become our family.
We imagined a professional, yet casual staff and food cooked from as close to the source as possible. This would be the beginning of a commitment to the amazing farmers, cheese makers, and producers who make Vermont so special!
Fast forward to today and we have Hen of the Wood - Waterbury, Hen of the Wood- BTV, Doc Ponds Eat & Drink in Stowe and Prohibition Pig, also in Waterbury. Our goal is to provide a truly Vermont experience at all of our restaurants. We want to showcase the region’s most vibrant products and continue to build strong connections with our community, our staff and fellows in our profession.
We have the utmost respect for these relationships and for our team. We are glad you are here.
SAMPLE Menu
At Hen of the Wood, the food is simple, uncomplicated and down-to-earth. We create daily changing menus based on the wealth of premium ingredients found only miles from the restaurant in the lush Green Mountains and Champlain Valley.
Our menus change daily, but we do our best to keep a sample dinner menu available for viewing here.
